PartyPoker merges French and Spanish player pools

PartyPoker has moved to connect customers from its French and Spanish online poker sites by rolling out a new, shared player pool.

The PartyPoker.eu site will allow players from the locally licensed online poker markets each country to play against each other and compete for shared prizes.

PartyPoker said the site will guarantee €1m ($1.2m) every week, with buy-ins to range from €0.55 to €250.

The new schedule will also feature over €600,000 in guarantees for ‘Progressive Knockout’ Multi-table Tournaments (MTT), while users can benefit from the new PKO MTTs as part of a move to scrap the rake on the bounty element of the buy-in.

Tom Waters, managing director of PartyPoker, said: “The partypoker.eu launch represents a milestone for both French and Spanish players, who can now enjoy greater variety, reduced rake and bigger and better games on the new .eu platform.

“We look forward to bringing our Spanish and French players together for the first time on our new and improved site.”

In January, PokerStars became the first operator to launch a shared player pool between the locally licensed online poker markets in France and Spain, and this has recently been extended to include Portugal.

Last month, Portugal joined France and Spain in the shared liquidity network, under a deal that was initially agreed in July of last year and also included Italy.

PartyPoker did not make reference to extending its new service to Portugal.
