Microgaming hails ‘most important’ poker release
Microgaming has rolled out its new ‘Prima’ poker software on the Microgaming Poker Network after the culmination of a multi-year effort to “revitalise” its product.
The new online poker client, which Microgaming said has been designed “with players in mind”, boasts a streamlined interface, a blind cash game lobby and a simplified rewards system.
Other key features include a player history tool that displays overall profit and loss across all game types, with the user able to filter their searches, as well as high-definition graphics.
Jean-Luc Ferriere (pictured), who was appointed as the new chief commercial officer at Microgaming earlier this month, said: “It is an exciting and pivotal time for the Microgaming Poker Network.
“The launch of Prima marks another move in our strategy to continue developing products centred around giving players the best poker experience with a more intuitive client, optimised for any device.”
Prima began rolling out the software today (Thursday) and the product will be available to customers from July 31.
Alex Scott, head of product (network games) at Microgaming, added: “This is our biggest and most important poker release, and the culmination of a multi-year strategy to revitalise our product and leapfrog the competition.
“I’m proud of what the team has achieved and I’m so excited about what we are going to build together in the coming months.”
The new launch comes after Microgaming last month named John Coleman as its new chief executive, amid a rebrand for Microgaming Software Systems.
Roger Raatgever has taken on the role of executive chairman of the newly-branded Apricot Investments, having served as chief executive of Microgaming Software Systems for the past 17 years.
