GiG strengthens technology leadership with senior hires
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has brought in Chris Armes as its new chief information officer, as well as making a number of internal promotions to bolster its technology team.
Armes (pictured), who was previously chief technology officer at NYX Gaming Group then SG Digital, will now assume strategic responsibility for GiG’s various technology assets, with a focus on enhancing GiG’s position as a B2B partner and operator.
Reporting directly to chief executive Robin Reed, Armes will form part of the C-Level management team at GiG.
“This is an opportunity to truly innovate in a dynamic industry,” Armes said. “I am looking forward to pushing the boundaries by leveraging new technologies and helping GiG to make a leap forward ahead of the competition.”
Reed added: “Chris is the latest in a range of tech management hires and he will be a fantastic asset for the GiG team and its customers.”
Meanwhile, GiG has also handed new senior roles to Jonathan Gauci, Stephen Borg and and Jan Flores. Gauci, who joined the business in June this year, becomes senior vice president of technology, while Borg, who joined in January, will take on the role of director of data and Flores, employed by GiG since June, director of production operations.
GiG said that the new appointments would help to support the roll out of the latest generation of its new range of platform and data services, as well as a new front end solution.
“GiG’s vision is to make iGaming fair and fun for all,” Reed explained. “We want to do this by being the platform of choice for iGaming. To build the most flexible, efficient and scalable product we need to have the very best tech management team.
“I am thrilled to welcome Chris, Stephen, Jan and Jonathan on board.”
