Michigan achieves record igaming revenue but online sports betting dips

Michigan has produced internet gaming revenue figures of $97.2m for August – a 5.3% increase on the previous month and a record total since igaming was available in the state.
Detroit’s MGM Grand venue had the highest igaming revenue with $39.7m, followed by the MotorCity Casino and its FanDuel offering with $14.2m and the Bay Mills Indian Community and DraftKings with $12.6m.
The state received $17.9m worth of payments from operators in the form of igaming taxes and payments, which is the second highest total since January’s launch.
The likes of BetMGM and PointsBet have launched gaming products within Michigan since January, which have helped contribute to igaming’s popularity.
With regards to online sports betting, revenue figures came to $15.9m – down from $19.6m in July.
