Codere Online secures multi-year NFL partnership in Mexico
Codere Online announced on Thursday a multi-year partnership as the official betting partner of the National Football League (NFL) in Mexico, as the US’ NFL season kicks off.
The collaboration includes sponsorship rights for significant NFL events such as Super Bowl LXI and the NFL Mexico Game, a regular-season NFL matchup on 22 November 2026 in Mexico City between the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.
The deal extends to activations around the 2027 Super Bowl in Los Angeles. The companies have outlined provisions for hospitality programmes, VIP experiences, activations across several Mexican cities and official NFL merchandise opportunities for Codere Online’s customer base.
“This agreement strengthens our premium positioning while underlining our long-term commitment to Mexico, a market with an extraordinary passion for the NFL,” said Carlos Sabanza, director of sponsorships and public relations at Codere Online.
By aligning with the NFL, Codere seeks to leverage marquee live events to boost customer engagement and enhance its offerings through unique fan experiences.
NFL deal builds on Codere Online’s Mexico momentum
Mexico is one of the NFL’s most important markets outside the United States and a core market for Codere Online.
It remained Codere Online’s largest market in Q2, generating €36.1 million in NGR, a 24% year-on-year rise. Chief Executive Aviv Sher said the company would continue investing as the market grows more competitive.
In an April interview with iGB, Sher reflected on the challenges of regulatory uncertainty in Mexico
“Right now we are working based on a framework of laws which you cannot even call regulation, from 1947,” Sher said. “So it’s very hard to work long-term and to give long-term commitments. While the future is unclear in terms of regulation, we saw what happened in other countries in LatAm when they changed the regulation every other month.
“In Mexico, I think we are stable, we know how to deal with this market. Of course, we will be very happy if in the future, a proper regulatory framework will be introduced and not the way that we are working right now.”
