Delasport enters Alberta’s regulated iGaming market with PlayBetNova.ca, expanding across Canada

Delasport, an award-winning provider of iGaming technology and Managed Services, has announced the successful launch of PlayBetNova.ca in Alberta, further advancing its expansion across Canada.

The milestone represents the company’s second regulated provincial market and extends its collaboration with the Betnova brand, following Alberta’s regulated online gaming market opening on 13 July 2026.

The new launch is powered by Delasport’s end-to-end turnkey platform, which brings together its proprietary Sportsbook, Casino, Player Account Management platform, and comprehensive Managed Services. By combining advanced technology with operational support, Delasport enables PlayBetNova.ca to enter the Alberta market with the infrastructure and services required to operate efficiently and pursue long-term growth.

Alberta’s regulated iGaming sector presents considerable potential for operators and technology providers. According to iGaming Ontario, Ontario’s regulated online gaming market achieved CA$82.7 billion in wagers and CA$3.2 billion in gross gaming revenue in fiscal year 2024-25, highlighting the scale of Canada’s regulated market opportunity.

According to the government of Alberta, unregulated operators currently represent around 70% of the province’s iGaming activity. With regulation creating opportunities to bring this activity into the licensed market, analysts at H2 Gambling Capital forecast approximately CA$1.2 billion in gross gaming revenue for Alberta’s first year.

Having secured AGLC registrations as a Platform Provider and Critical Gaming Systems Supplier, Delasport has moved quickly to establish its presence in the province, launching just three months after the market opened. The achievement builds on the company’s existing Canadian operations in Ontario, where operators such as TitanPlay and Betnova already benefit from its turnkey solutions and Managed Services.

This latest expansion reinforces Delasport’s commitment to helping partners navigate regulatory requirements, accelerate market entry and deliver engaging player experiences.

“Going live in Alberta with PlayBetNova.ca is another milestone in Delasport’s growth across regulated markets and a major step forward in Canada,” said Oren Cohen Shwartz, chief executive officer at Delasport.

“Our continued growth is built on the success of our partners. Supporting their expansion with both technology and Managed Services is central to our long-term strategy and we look forward to continuing this momentum in Canada and beyond. We’re also proud to be able to quickly enter new markets as our technology supports adapting quickly to regulatory requirements.”
