ICONIC21 picks up the bill for doubles and splits in Free Double & Split Blackjack

Unlimited-seat live variant gives players a free second wager on hard 9, 10 and 11 and on eligible pairs, with a Push on 22 rule balancing the added advantage.

In-demand iGaming content provider ICONIC21 has unveiled Free Double & Split Blackjack, a live, unlimited-seat version of the classic game in which the house puts up the extra stake when a player doubles down or splits on an eligible hand.

The core blackjack experience remains familiar, with the main difference centred around two of the game’s most important decisions: doubling and splitting. A player holding a hard 9, 10 or 11 can double at no extra cost, and pairs from 2s up to 9s, along with Aces, can be split for free. In each case, the house funds the additional wager, allowing the player to Double or Split without committing any additional stake of their own.

The additional player advantage is balanced by one rule change: if the dealer busts with exactly 22, all remaining non-blackjack hands push instead of winning. A natural blackjack remains the exception and is paid as normal.

Because the table has no seat limit, every player at it is playing against the same dealer hand at the same time, and each gets their own result. Nobody has to wait for a seat to become free before joining.

Andrii Savyntsev product owner team lead at ICONIC21, said: “Doubling and splitting are two of the most important decisions a blackjack player can make, but they’re also the moments that usually require committing more money to the hand. By removing that additional cost on eligible hands, we let players make those decisions based on the cards in front of them.”

“For operators, Push on 22 is what makes the format workable. It’s a single rule that’s easy to explain on screen, and it means they can offer free doubles and splits on an unlimited table while keeping the game in balance.”
