While many bettors pay more attention to betting markets, the odds available and features such as live streaming and promotional offers when selecting a bookmaker, banking is also an important factor in choosing one site over another.

Whether a casual weekend bettor or one of the more seriously inclined, banking reliability, security and flexibility are important considerations for punters when signing up with a new bookmaker and operators need to make sure their payment options match their product offering.

Best bookmaker for banking
After conducting our detailed analysis, we determined the best bookmaker for banking is bet365. Across the board, bet365 performed better than any other bookmaker in our analysis. In second place was Coral, while in third was William Hill.

Bet365
While ranked our best bookmaker for banking, Bet365 ranked second overall for the number of deposit options available. It had 12 deposit options available at the time of collecting the data, behind NetBet in first with 18 options. In terms of withdrawal options, bet365 ranked mid-table with nine options available.

Bet365 also ranked highly across the board in terms of minimum deposits and withdrawals, requiring a minimum of £5 for credit card and Skrill deposits and withdrawals and £10 for Paypal and Neteller deposits and withdrawals.

There are also no fees charged for credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller deposits or withdrawals, however this is fairly standard across the industry.

Deposits made via credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller are processed instantly.

While Neteller withdrawals are processed within 12 hours, Paypal and Skrill withdrawals are processed within 24 hours and credit card withdrawals within one and five banking days, in each case ranking bet365 among the best in the industry.

Bet365 also has its own Mastercard available, as well as bank wire transfer and cheque deposit and withdrawals.

Coral
In second overall we placed Coral. While we ranked Coral highly, it does not offer a broad range of deposit options, with only eight available at the time of collecting the data, placing it mid-table. It ranked similarly among withdrawal options, with eight available again.

Despite its narrow range of deposit and withdrawal options, Coral performed well in terms of minimum deposits and withdrawals, with a minimum £5 deposit available for credit card, Skrill and Neteller deposits and £10 for Paypal.

In terms of minimum withdrawals, Coral performed the best of any bookmaker in our analysis.

As with bet365 there are no fees associated with credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller deposits and withdrawals.

Likewise, credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller deposits are processed instantly. Coral processes Skrill, Paypal and Neteller withdrawals within 24 hours and credit card withdrawals between two and five banking days.

Coral also has bank wire transfer available but no deposits or withdrawals via cheque.

William Hill
Overall we ranked William Hill in third place. William Hill ranked highly for its deposit options, with 11 at the time of collecting our data, and it also has 13 withdrawal options.

William Hill currently offers £5 minimum deposits for credit cards and £10 minimum deposits for Skrill, Paypal and Neteller. In terms of withdrawals, the minimum is £5 across the board for William Hill customers using credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller.

Just as with bet365 and Coral, at William Hill deposits via credit card, Skrill, Paypal and Neteller are instant. Skrill, Paypal and Neteller withdrawals are processed within one banking day and credit card withdrawals are processed within three to five banking days.

William Hill also has a ‘priority access card’ available, as well as bank wire transfer and cheque for both deposits and withdrawals.

Conclusion
While bet365, Coral and William Hill were the clear top three bookmakers in our analysis, other bookmakers such as Paddy Power, 10bet and Boylesports also performed more than adequately.

At a distance there is little to distinguish the average bookmaker in terms of the banking options available. On closer inspection, however, we find bookmakers such as bet365, Coral and William Hill offer customers a more flexible banking experience.
