Churchill Downs goes live with BetAmerica in New Jersey
Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has launched its SBTech-powered BetAmerica brand in New Jersey through a partnership with Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget Casino.
BetAmerica offers both online real-money sports betting and casino gaming to consumers in the US state.
Punters can wager on a wide range of professional and collegiate sports, with the option to place pre-game or in-play bets. Players also have access to additional features such as early cash-out and bonus offers.
The online casino platform will offer both slot and table games from developers including IGT, NetEnt, Spin Games and Everi.
“We look forward to delivering innovative, state-of-the-art products that we believe will exceed our customers’ expectations by leveraging our deep experience as the leader in online horse race wagering through our TwinSpires platform,” CDI CEO Bill Carstanjen said.
CDI had planned to launch in New Jersey during the fourth quarter of last year, subject to licence approval for both itself and partner SBTech. An agreement to operate as a skin on Golden Nugget's online licence has been in place for some time.
In May of last year, CDI agreed a deal with SBTech to jointly work on its sports betting offering in the US. The partnership initially focused on the New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets.
CDI is already active with its BetAmerica brand in Mississippi, having launched the brand last August in partnership with Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa in Greenville and the Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Vicksburg.
Elsewhere, CDI has also positioned itself to also launch online gambling services in both New York and Colorado via a deal with Saratoga Casino Holdings, subject to a change in laws in both states.
Saratoga Casino Holdings is the parent company of both the Saratoga Casino Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York, and Saratoga Casino Black Hawk in Black Hawk, Colorado.
