Independent table games provider Galaxy Gaming has added Gavin Isaacs, former chief executive of Scientific Games and current chairman of SBTech, to its board of directors.

Isaacs will now support Galaxy Gaming with its strategic growth plans, should his appointment secure customary gaming regulatory approvals.

Having worked in the gambling sector for more than 20 years, Isaacs became chairman of sports betting and gaming technology supplier SBTech January of this year.

Prior to this, he led Scientific Games as CEO and also had spells as Chief operating officer of Bally Technologies, CEO of SHFL Entertainment and president of Aristocrat.

“I believe Galaxy Gaming is in a very unique place, with tremendous opportunities in front of it, and I am very pleased to be joining the board of directors,” Isaacs said.

“I am hopeful that my experience in gaming, especially my time in the table games business, and my experience in M&A, will be helpful in driving Galaxy to the next level.”

Galaxy Gaming chairman and former Nevada Gaming Control Board chair Mark Lipparelli, added: “Gavin brings a rare broad set of skills to the Galaxy Gaming board including his leadership roles, public company background, international reach and deep industry experience.

“Our shareholders will benefit a great deal from his contributions to the board’s efforts in setting the strategic direction of the company.”

In April, Isaacs also agreed to take on the role of chairman at US-focused mobile lottery start-up Jackpocket.
