Playtech-owned slot studio Quickspin has promoted Erik Gullstrand to the role of chief product officer.

Gullstrand will take charge of product planning and development in his new role, and has also been tasked with diversifying the studio’s product portfolio, as well as devising new promotional tools and aiding expansion into new markets.

He takes over the role vacated by Quickspin co-founder Joachim Timmermans, who announced his departure from the company earlier this month.

Having worked for Quickspin since 2012, Gullstrand has held a number of key roles within the business, including head of development, head of account management and vice president of business development. The supplier noted that the appointment reflected its dedication to developing talent internally.

“We are delighted to announce the promotion of Erik to leading CPO at Quickspin,” Quickspin chief executive Daniel Lindberg said. “He’s an invaluable asset and has been dedicated to building the company into what it has become today since our founding.

“We have very exciting plans for 2019 and are confident that Erik is the ideal person to execute that strategy.”

Commenting on his appointment, Gullstrand said: “I am excited by this new challenge.

“Having been at Quickspin since its founding days, I see this appointment as testament to all of the hard work myself and my fellow Quickspinners have put into the building of the company to the leading slots specialist it has now become.”
