North American legal firm Segev LLP has expanded its iGaming division as it seeks growth in the US market.

The Vancouver-headquartered company has recruited US-qualified attorneys Eric Stein and Mark Balestra to its iGaming team.

Balestra – the author of book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Gambling – will be based in Segev’s new St. Louis, Missouri, office. Stein will service clients in Colorado, Illinois and the Pacific Northwest.

The pair have more than 40 years’ experience practicing law and Segev said their arrival will enhance its iGaming division, which deals with corporate, commercial, IP commercialisation, M&A, private equity finance, public markets finance, regulatory and compliance issues.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Eric and Mark to the team. They enhance what is an already highly competent and experienced practice group,” said Ron Segev, founding partner of Segev LLP.

“This is a time of change across the gambling sector, and it is important that operators in the US and Canada have legal counsel that they can rely upon. Segev LLP has the capacity to be a one-stop shop for all their needs.”
