Svenska Spel has appointed former LeoVegas chief marketing officer Petra Blixt as head of sales and marketing for its igaming subsidiary Svenska Spel Sport & Casino.

Blixt will join the division’s management team for the new role, reporting directly to chief executive Fredrik Wastenson, when she starts in the position on 20 January, 2020.

In the role she will be responsible for developing the subsidiary’s digital marketing strategy and optimising the sales process, as part of the operator’s ongoing efforts to enhance its online offering.

“I am very pleased to announce Petra Blixt as the new sales and marketing manager for Svenska Spel Sport & Casino,” Wastenson commented. “Her knowledge and experience in data-driven marketing and sales will be extremely valuable to us in the work we are currently doing.

“I also want to emphasise her clear and goal-oriented leadership, which together with a high energy and ability to execute on strategy, will be important attributes for running and developing our business.”

Blixt has held a number of top-level marketing roles, most recently at LeoVegas, where she previously served as marketing director and head of sales. She previously served as head of commercial for C More Entertainment, French broadcaster Canal+’s Nordic arm, and as a director of creative studio Affect Agency.

Commenting on her new position, she highlighted Svenska Spel’s strong position in the market, noting that while brands such as Oddset and Stryktipset were highly popular, they were also committed to offering gambling in a socially responsible manner.

“But the business has also identified areas where changes are needed to ensure it can continue to grow market share in a highly competitive environment,” she added. “That journey, as well as the prospect of working with fantastic colleagues, is what makes this role at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino so interesting.”
