The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has appointed Bill Moyes as its new chair on a five-year term.

Moyes, who also currently serves as chair of the General Dental Council, the body that regulates dental professionals in the UK, will begin his new role at the UKGC this month.

Earlier in his career, Moyes held positions as director general and executive director of the British Retail Consortium, as well as non-executive directorships with the Legal Services Board, the Priory Hospital Group and the Office of Fair Trading.

Moyes will replace Philip Graf as chair of the UKGC.

Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport in the UK, said: β€œI am delighted that Bill Moyes is taking up the position as chair of the Gambling Commission.

β€œHe has a wealth of experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, which will serve him well at the Gambling Commission.”
