Zynga launches ‘Words With Friends 2’
Zynga has announced the launch of ‘Words With Friends 2’, the follow-up to phenomenally successful social gaming title ‘Words With Friends’.
Available to download from Apple’s App Store and Google Play, the latest game includes a number of new features that have been introduced based on player feedback.
The first Words With Friends game launched in 2009 and has been downloaded more than 250 million times and is ranked as one of the App Store's top 10 free games of all time.
In Words With Friends 2, players can now access ‘Solo Challenge’, which allows them to play against an AI bot and develop their strategic skills before taking on human players.
Also new is the ‘Lightning Round’, a first-ever synchronous multiplayer feature where players can play against more than one person in the same match by joining teams of five in a rapid-fire wordplay faceoff.
‘Boosts’ have been introduced to help players continually build gameplay strategy and vocabulary, while the ‘Social Dictionary’ will carry over from Words With Friends, which recently added over 50,000 new words in-game.
Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga, said: “As one of Zynga’s most popular and iconic forever franchises, Words With Friends continues to connect millions of people around the world every day through a shared love of social wordplay.”
