2027 iGaming Trends Report coming in two weeks

| By iGB Freelance
SOFTSWISS is set to launch the biggest iGaming Trends Report yet written in partnership with WorldGaming (ex Clarion) and featuring insights from over 500 experts.

For the first time, the report expands beyond iGaming to offer a cross-industry perspective from contributors like Amazon Web Services. The fifth edition will be presented on 29 September at SBC Lisbon.

In five years, iGaming has grown into the fourth largest sector – behind just e-commerce, sports and film – in terms of market size, growth, regulatory load and digital maturity, the 2027 iGaming Trends Report by SOFTSWISS shows. The milestone edition of the report traces that journey to maturity and, with it, explores the most pressing questions the industry now has to answer:

  • How can regulated gaming become an economic driver?
  • Can responsible gambling and commercial performance work together rather than in tension?
  • How do licensing and responsible gambling practices create a competitive advantage that generates real business returns?
  • Where does iGaming fit within the broader digital economy?

Research-backed data, cross-industry perspective and real-life market cases

The report draws on survey input from 500+ industry professionals and analysis of more than 480,000 media headlines tracking narrative and sentiment shifts.

The report’s new cross-industry chapter benchmarks iGaming against e-commerce, crypto, streaming and other digital sectors. It is supported by Tier-1 case studies illustrating operator growth, market expansion and performance.

Alexandra Kavelich, deputy CMO at SOFTSWISS, comments: “The industry’s maturation has brought both increased complexity and cross-sector influence, which prompted us to broaden analytical scope to reflect the new reality.

“For the 2027 iGaming Trends Report, we have nearly doubled the number of professionals surveyed and headlines analysed, and added the ‘Beyond iGaming’ chapter. As a strategic partner, we aim to help businesses navigate next steps with deeper insights and adaptation paths.”

With over 32,000 downloads since its launch in 2022, the iGaming Trends Report has become a recognised reference point for industry analysis. The fifth edition builds on this foundation and goes further, including:

  • Regional market analysis and trend outlook from WorldGaming (ex Clarion)
  • Insights from Amazon Web Services (AWS) on AI adoption in compliance, fraud detection, personalisation and customer support
  • Exclusive market sizing and forecasting data from H2 Gambling Capital
  • Workforce intelligence on hiring trends, retention and talent gaps from Pentasia

Robin Harrison, global content director B2B at WorldGaming (ex Clarion), explains: “Understanding both the global picture and the nuances of specific regions matters. We have seen cases when local leadership only bought businesses a market share. That is the perspective WorldGaming brings to the 2027 iGaming Trends Report through its ICE, iGB and GGB platforms.”

The report will be presented at the SOFTSWISS stand, B501, at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026. To discuss its key findings, SOFTSWISS will host the panel discussion “2027 iGaming Trends Report | Five Years of iGaming: Which Trends Endured, Which Faded, and What Comes Next?” on 29 September.
