RG tool will offer retail gamblers a similar level of player protection as remote gamblers.
Better Change (Gibraltar) Limited has announced the launch of its exciting new product, Gamblewise. The RG tool will offer an innovative way for land-based customers of establishments such as casinos, betting shops and arcades to obtain similar levels of player protection to those playing online.
Gamblewise empowers each player to take control of their gambling by inviting individuals to set their own limits such as how long they are happy to spend within a venue. Once their limit has been reached, Gamblewise sends a friendly alert to their mobile phone or other personal device to ensure they are cognisant of their initial intentions.
For those players who would prefer a more personal interaction, venue staff can also be instructed to interact with the player once someone’s limits have been reached.
Gamblewise is not designed to be a prohibitive tool but has proven to be successful in ensuring that players remain in full control of their gambling session and do not exceed a level of play they are comfortable with, while at all times being in control.
Gamblewise is entirely free for players to use and is funded via an affordable monthly fee charged to each establishment for the installation and maintenance of the proprietary technology.
As a leading social impact company keen to be the driving force for change in the gambling industry, Better Change is proud to offer its Gamblewise tool as a key part of its portfolio. It will provide socially responsible operators with an additional tool to complement their existing player protection and regulatory affairs work for a very modest monthly fee – from as little as £10 per venue.
Having already achieved a place on the UKGC RET (research, education and treatment) list and been awarded its ISO 9001 quality management accreditation, Better Change has a strong portfolio of safer gambling products aimed primarily at the remote gaming industry and felt the same attention was lacking for the land-based side of the industry.
Commenting on the launch, Better Change founder Victoria Reed said: “We are extremely proud to be launching our Gamblewise product as it is not only a product which fits into the Better Change portfolio seamlessly, but as an organisation entirely committed to reducing gambling related harm and protecting players, we felt there was a significant gap in the level of player protection offered to retail and land-based players compared to those playing online. We are thrilled to be able to offer our clients an innovative, commercially sympathetic and effective way to support their existing safer gambling strategies.”
Gamblewise founder Andrew Tottenham said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Better Change, an organisation known for its innovation and dynamism. We look forward to working together with Better Change to distribute safer gambling tools throughout the UK industry and overseas, for the benefit of players and operators.”
