DragonBet selects BVGroup to power next phase of growth
The migration is planned for Q1 2027 and marks a significant milestone in the next phase of growth for both businesses.
The agreement brings together DragonBet’s established UK sportsbook brand and operational expertise with BVGroup’s enterprise B2B technology platform. Under the partnership, DragonBet will leverage BVGroup’s sportsbook, casino, player account management, payments and compliance capabilities, while retaining control over the areas that define its customer proposition, brand and regulatory operations.
For DragonBet, the partnership represents a major strategic investment in the technology and infrastructure required to support its long-term ambitions within the UK and Ireland. For BVGroup, DragonBet becomes one of the flagship partners on the BV:360 platform, further validating BVGroup’s strategy of providing modular sportsbook and gaming technology to independently licensed operators.
Founded by brothers David and James Lovell, DragonBet has its origins in the family’s long-standing racecourse bookmaking business. Since launching online in 2022, the company has established itself as one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent sportsbook and casino brands, recognised for its strong horse racing heritage and differentiated customer proposition.
The two businesses have worked closely throughout the evaluation process to develop a partnership model that combines the strengths of both organisations. Beyond the migration itself, the companies intend to collaborate on.
David Lovell, CEO and co-founder of DragonBet, said:co-founder of DragonBet, said: “This is a landmark agreement for DragonBet and an important investment in the long-term future of our business.
“We have ambitious plans for the next stage of our growth and recognise that achieving those ambitions requires continued investment in the technology and infrastructure that sits behind DragonBet. After an extensive evaluation process, we believe BVGroup provides the platform, capability and long-term roadmap to support those ambitions.
“Just as importantly, this partnership allows DragonBet to remain DragonBet. We retain the independence, identity and entrepreneurial approach that have driven our growth to date, while investing in a platform that gives us the foundations to scale for many years to come.”
Eoin Ryan, B2B director of BVGroup, said: “DragonBet has built one of the UK’s most distinctive independent betting brands, backed by an experienced management team and a clear long-term vision. From our earliest discussions, it was clear that both businesses share a similar philosophy of combining entrepreneurial thinking with sustained investment in technology.
“We are delighted that DragonBet has selected BVGroup to support the next phase of its journey. This partnership is an important milestone in the continued development of our B2B strategy and demonstrates the strength and flexibility of the BV:360 platform. We look forward to working closely with David, James and the wider DragonBet team as we continue to evolve the platform together.”
The migration programme is now under way, with both organisations working towards a planned launch during Q1 2027.
