Exoplay has been officially awarded with an online gaming licence for the conduct of online games of chance by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC).

Exoplay has been granted a Type 2 licence which will allow the company to offer online casino services, live and RNG games within the Greek market for the next seven years at a price of €2m.
This development makes Exoplay the 19th company to be handed a Greek gaming licence since market regulation came into effect in August 2021.

Upon commencement of operations, Exoplay is going to be one of two casino-only operators in Greece, a country where the total online casino market has grown by 328% in terms of GGR since 2019, according to HGC.

Commenting on the news, Exoplay managing director, Constantine Koumatos, said: “We are absolutely excited to receive the green light for entering one of the most competitive, demanding and dynamic markets in Europe. Our vision is to offer a gaming proposition which will stand out and stand apart amongst other, characteristically identical, online casinos and we are very much looking forward to presenting ours to the Greek players and to the world.”

Exoplay is expected to launch its Greek operations within Q2 2024, albeit with a brand which is yet to be disclosed.
