Gamecheck launches exposé into fake casino games in Brazil
Gamecheck, the online casino verification platform that identifies fake online casinos offering fake games, and the rogue operators behind them, has begun a ten-part weekly exposé series covering five thousand fake online casino sites identified across Brazil during the first half of 2026.
Since Gamecheck began operating, it has detected more than eight thousand fake games worldwide. Over 6,800 of those were found in Brazil, including 3,800 fake online casinos identified in a single month. No other market Gamecheck monitors comes close: Brazil accounts for the largest share of fake games detected anywhere in the world.

Why Brazil became a target
Brazil’s regulated online casino market launched at the start of 2025 with significant momentum, opening online casino gaming to millions of players for the first time. The market has grown quickly: betting sites in Brazil generated around $7 billion in gross gaming revenue during 2025, according to Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Bets, with revenue forecast to approach $10 billion by 2029, according to H2 Gambling Capital.
Within a year of the regulated market opening, Brazil became the world’s fifth-largest betting market, as reported by BBC News Brasil, with authorised platforms generating an estimated $290 million in tax revenue in January 2026 alone, according to Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service, and creating an estimated 15,000 high-income jobs, according to the Instituto Brasileiro de Jogo Responsável.
That rapid growth created ideal conditions for rogue operators: a large, engaged player base, widespread smartphone adoption, and millions of first-time online casino players with limited experience telling a real platform from one that is not.
A consistent pattern
Gamecheck’s findings show rogue operators in Brazil tend to favour short, numeral-heavy domain names, cycle through near-identical branding, and rely on a small number of templates to appear established. Brazil’s fast-growing online casino market, driven by wider smartphone and internet access, creates exactly the environment that attracts this kind of activity: more players searching for new sites to try means more opportunities for rogue operators to pass off fake games as real.
How the sites are identified
Each site in the series is assessed using Gamecheck’s standard process.
A sample of games is tested, evidence is gathered, and the original game providers are asked to confirm whether the games are real. Where fake games are detected, the site is added to Gamecheck’s database and placed under ongoing monitoring.
