Genting Casino Online data reveals how responsible gambling tool usage varies by age

| By iGB Freelance
Genting Casino Online has published anonymised data highlighting differences in how players across age groups use responsible gambling tools, as the brand launches its new Safer Play Hub to bring together practical tools, guidance and support resources.

The findings highlight contrasting usage patterns for deposit limits and self-exclusion, underlining the importance of making player-protection options accessible to different audiences.

Deposit limit usage increases with age

Genting Casino Online’s research shows that personal deposit limit usage generally increases across the age groups analysed.

Among players aged 18-24, 20.7% had set a deposit limit, rising to 24.1% among those aged 25-34 and 28.4% for the 35-44 group.

Usage peaked at 31.2% among players aged 45-54, before remaining broadly level at 31.0% for those aged 55 and over.

Self-exclusion follows a different pattern

Self-exclusion usage followed a different trend, peaking at 20.6% among players aged 25-34, closely followed by 20.2% among those aged 35-44.

The figure stood at 19.1% for players aged 18-24, falling to 17.1% among those aged 45-54 and 13.4% for players aged 55 and over.

The data illustrates how usage varies between responsible gambling tools, although it does not explain why players make particular choices or indicate differences in gambling-related risk between age groups.

Making Safer Play resources accessible

Genting Casino Online’s new Safer Play Hub brings together responsible gambling tools, practical guidance, research and support resources in one dedicated online destination.

The hub provides information on options including deposit limits, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion, helping players explore the tools available and make informed decisions about their gambling.

Michael Vella, brand manager at Genting Casino Online, said: “Our data highlights some interesting differences in how players across age groups use responsible gambling tools.

“Deposit limit usage generally increases with age, while self-exclusion follows a different pattern, peaking among players aged 25-34. While the figures don’t explain why players choose particular tools, they reinforce the importance of understanding how these options are being used and ensuring players have access to a range of support measures.

“Our new Safer Play Hub brings together responsible gambling tools, practical guidance and support resources in one place, making it easier for players to find information and understand the options available to them.

“As operators, we have a responsibility to make these resources accessible, communicate clearly and support informed decision-making. Safer Play is an ongoing commitment, and we want to ensure players can easily find the tools and guidance they need to make informed choices about their gambling.”
