GR8_TECH’s platform is now the fastest in iGaming

GR8_TECH’s rebuilt platform delivers sub-two-second load times and Lighthouse scores of 90-95, setting a new benchmark for iGaming performance.

GR8_TECH has rebuilt its platform’s frontend architecture, achieving an average Lighthouse score of 90-95 points – making Platform for Champions effectively the fastest one in the industry, where the top outliers don’t exceed 75 points.

“Essentially, this means GR8_TECH’s platform loads faster than competitors’, giving end users a smoother experience they legitimately want to return to. For operators, this means higher player loyalty, time spent in sessions, retention rate, and, ultimately, higher revenue. Simply because of better tech,” commented Edward Smyshliayev, GR8_TECH CTO.   

Tech behind the update
GR8_TECH rebuilt its frontend in two moves:

  • First, it shifted from a pure client-side rendering (CSR) approach based on the React framework to a server-side (SSR) architecture built on Qwik, moving the heavy lifting off the end user’s device.
  • Second, it adopted edgecloud so rendering happens closer to the player – a meaningful difference in regions farther from centralised infrastructure.

Full customisation was preserved across every core surface – from the GREAT_SPORTSBOOK betting interface to the casino lobby, cashier, registration, and promo pages.

Industry speed benchmarks
To test the update’s effectiveness, GR8_TECH benchmarked more than 15 leading iGaming B2C sites, ranging from traditional sportsbooks and casinos to modern crypto-native casinos and online prediction markets. The performance testing focused on mobile, since it accounts for the overwhelming majority of iGaming traffic.

Only a third of them showed good enough frontend load time (Speed Index) in the green zone below 3.4 seconds; at the same time, over 40% fell behind in the red zone with load times over 5.8 seconds. After updates, GR8_TECH’s platform consistently loads in just 1.72 seconds.

But Speed Index is just a part of the performance score. When it comes to the full Lighthouse Index, which assesses 5 metrics, only a handful of benchmarked brands scored in the 70-80 range – at the upper end of the middle “Needs Improvement” group. The average majority lies at the lower end, with a score in the 50s. GR8_TECH’s platform now has an average Lighthouse score of 90-95 – confidently the fastest in the industry.
