UK-based game developer, Jelly Entertainment, completes the acquisition of social gaming product and technology supplier, Wundermachine.

Jelly Entertainment has finalised the acquisition of the social gaming B2B supplier, Wundermachine. This transaction marks a significant expansion of resources for Jelly, allowing it to expedite its growth in several key areas: markets, talent, distribution and delivery. The move signals Jelly’s intent to secure its transition from challenger brand to a fully-fledged B2B supplier.

Wundermachine, headquartered in Bochum, Germany, currently supplies its proprietary technology and content to the social gaming industry. As an experienced gaming and software company, Wundermachine offers additional capacity to Jelly with an increase in distribution while also reinforcing its omnichannel delivery. Jelly is driven to create immersive, supercharged, omnichannel entertainment. In this way it can reach players wherever they are, whenever they want to play and in any channel they choose – casino, retail or digital. The acquisition is another differentiator for the real-money game developer as it adds more talented staff, proven technology and industry-leading, platform-level tools.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the deal, David Newstead, managing director of Jelly, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Wundermachine team into the Jelly family. They will be integral to Jelly’s ambitious growth as we enter new regulated markets across Europe, LatAm, North America and Canada. The business has the foundations to really push on and deliver its aggressive expansion plan for the next 12 months. I am very confident that this partnership will be a great fit and the team look forward to working alongside the creative minds they’ve proven to be.”

The current staff members of Wundermachine will remain at their existing office, with both the social gaming and real-money gambling teams contributing to Jelly’s development strategies.

Also commenting on the acquisition, Bjorn Kaufmann of Wundermachine, said: “Wundermachine was built to optimise the game development lifecycle; the team has honed its product and technology skills with some of the most successful companies in real-money and social gaming. We’re passionate people about what we do and how we deliver it. Together we are certain that, as part of Jelly, our teams will flourish.”

Jelly will soon launch titles including CleoPatrick, Midas Riches and Wicked Riches of Oz with its manifesto being built on a restless spirit of entrepreneurship; a strategy to differentiate its slot design and delivery by adopting a balanced mix of evolution and revolution.
