Press Box PR expands PR services into African markets

| By iGB Freelance
Press Box PR, the award-winning digital PR agency specialising in betting, gaming, sport, consumer and technology, has expanded its international offering into African media markets.

The expansion will see Press Box PR work directly with journalists and publications across Africa to deliver locally relevant earned media campaigns for its growing international client base, with an initial focus on the sport and B2B iGaming sectors.

Through access to leading names in African football and combat sports, alongside senior executives and thought leaders from across the global iGaming industry, Press Box PR will deliver interviews, commentary, thought leadership and digital PR campaigns tailored specifically to African audiences.

The move comes as Africa becomes an increasingly important growth market for the global betting and gaming industry, supported by a young and digitally engaged population, improving mobile and payments infrastructure and the continued development of regulated gambling markets across the continent.

As individual markets mature, operators, suppliers and technology businesses are investing more heavily in market entry, partnerships and brand-building. This is creating greater demand for communications strategies that understand local media, audiences and cultural nuances rather than approaching Africa as a single, homogenous market.

Press Box PR already supports Super Group Africa, alongside clients and campaigns targeting growing betting and gaming markets including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.

The agency will build on these existing relationships to strengthen its network of journalists and publications across the continent, helping brands secure high-quality earned coverage and authoritative backlinks while developing their visibility and reputation in individual African markets.

Alex Donohue, founder of Press Box PR, said: “Africa is becoming an increasingly important market for many of the businesses we work with, particularly across betting, gaming and sport, so expanding our media capabilities across the continent is a natural next step for us.

“What is particularly important is recognising that there is no single ‘African market’. South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other countries each have their own media landscapes, audiences and commercial opportunities. Brands looking to grow successfully need communications strategies built around those individual markets.

“We’ve already started building strong relationships with journalists across the continent and delivering tailored content strategies for African audiences. We’re excited to develop that further and support more of our clients as they grow internationally.”

With offices in London and Manchester, Press Box PR specialises in securing earned media coverage across gambling, sport, consumer, finance, hospitality and technology publications. The agency also helps brands increase their visibility in AI-generated answers, citations and large language model recommendations.

Press Box PR was named PR Agency of the Year at the 2026 European iGaming Awards.
