ProntoPaga announces strategic alliance with Yape

Exciting development to play a key role in ProntoPaga’s exponential growth in Peru.

ProntoPaga, a leading financial innovation company in Latin America, has strengthened its presence in the region through a new strategic alliance with Yape. The partnership includes two integrations: Yape On File and Yape One Shot. 

These solutions enable millions of Peruvians to shop online, pay for subscriptions and approve transactions with just one click – enhancing security and reducing friction throughout the process. 

With over 14 million users, Yape is the most widely used mobile application in Peru after WhatsApp, registering more than 817 million transactions per month. Its massive adoption has been key to the success of this integration, allowing yaperos to store their account as a payment method across various merchants – transforming the digital transaction experience in the country. 

One of the products, Yape On File, is a payment solution developed by Yape to use in scenarios such as ecommerce, online gambling, and more. It offers two core experiences: 

  • Yape One Click Payments: A one-click payment button that allows users to make purchases instantly. Users only need to register their details once, eliminating the need to re-enter them for future transactions. It is ideal for recurring payments and streamlining processes. 
  • Recurring Payment Service: A one-time registration that automates periodic charges. 

What does this mean in practice? 
For example, in transportation apps, there’s no need to carry cash or enter bank details for each ride. With the One Click Payments functionality, entering your mobile number once is enough –subsequent rides are paid with a single click. 

Paying a monthly fee on an educational platform, is also seamless thanks to Yape’s subscription system. You only need to link your account during the first login, and payments are made automatically thereafter. 

Additionally, the Yape One Shot feature enables users to authorise a specific transaction without entering any data, making it ideal for confirming individual purchases in delivery apps or online stores.

Thanks to this alliance, ProntoPaga has also positioned itself as the only solution in the country offering Smart Routing for digital withdrawals (PayOuts) – a technology developed for wallets and bank accounts that allows withdrawals of up to S/3,500 per operation.
