WorldGaming team takes on Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of CHIPS Charity
CHIPS provide custom-built, specialised powered wheelchairs for children with varying disabilities, helping to grant them independence, freedom and happiness.
The four WorldGaming runners, comprising ICE Barcelona Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn; Head of Brand, Partnerships and PR, Jody Frost; Group Operations Director Verena Lester; and Senior Operations Manager Rebecca Davis have launched a JustGiving page WorldGaming Takes on the Royal Parks Half Marathon for CHIPS! 🏃♀️
Launched by members of the gambling industry, the CHIPS charity has raised in excess of £4.5 million and is on course to make its 800th wheelchair presentation before the end of the year.
Previewing the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Margaret Dunn said: “CHIPS is WorldGaming’s official charity partner and we are delighted to be running in support of an organisation that has transformed the lives of so many youngsters and their families.
“The predicted 18,000 runners follow a course that takes in Hyde Park, Green Park, St. James’s Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as iconic landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall. Running on central London’s closed roads, it has a unique festival atmosphere and is known as being one of the UK’s most memorable half marathons.
“Sunday October 11th, the date of the Royal Parks, is fast approaching and we’ve been putting in the training in preparation to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help CHIPS continue its quite brilliant work.”
During 2026 CHIPS has presented 36 youngsters with the charity’s bespoke engineered wheelchairs, each costing up to £9,000. CHIPS is run exclusively by volunteer Trustees drawn from the industry with 100% of donations being used to purchase wheelchairs.
