Sports betting revenue in Delaware amounted to $2.2m (£1.7m/€2.0m) in September, which is the highest monthly total so far this year but down 31.5% on the same month in 2018.
September was the first time this year that Delaware breached the $2m revenue mark, while the state has only posted over $1m on two occasions so far this year, in January ($1.4m) and March ($1.6m).
Consumers spent a total of $11.8m on sports lottery wagers in the month ending September 29, which is down on $16.8m in the same month last year and just shy of the 2019-high of $11.9m in January.
Players took home a collective $9.4m in sports betting winnings from a total of 318,155 wagers during the month, compared to $13.2m from 343,245 wagers last year.
