Ladbrokes Coral Group has maintained that its proposed acquisition by GVC will go through before the end of the first quarter or early in the second quarter.

Last month, GVC agreed to purchase Ladbrokes Coral in a deal worth up to £4bn (€4.5bn/$5.5bn).

In an update released today (Thursday), Ladbrokes Coral said that a scheme document containing details of the deal will be sent out to its shareholders next month for consideration.

Ladbrokes Coral intends to publish a trading update to accompany the scheme document, with plans to defer the release of its full-year result for 2017 until April.

Should the acquisition go through, the admission of Ladbrokes Coral shares to the premium listing segment of the Official List will be cancelled, with Ladbrokes Coral to be reregistered as a private limited company.
