GVC plays its cards right with EML payments

GVC's EML Payments Europe deal will lead to the provision of branded, reloadable cards across its European brands

GVC Holdings has struck a multi-year deal with EML Payments Europe that will lead to the provision of branded, reloadable cards for the company’s European online gaming brands.

The cards will be used by GVC customers to enable instant access to their winnings and allow them to remit funds back into their gaming account.

The schedule to roll out the winnings cards to GVC’s brands is expected to be confirmed by the end of September, EML said.

The company said that it would be difficult to estimate accurately future gross debit volume via the scheme due to “uncertainties in the pace of brand roll outs and of rate of adoption in new markets”.

EML’s portfolio offers payment technology solutions for payouts, gifts, incentives and rewards, as well as supplier payments.

GVC operates in more than 20 regulated jurisdictions and owns more than 20 established B2C brands, including bwin, Sportingbet, Partypoker, PartyCasino and Gala, as well as Ladbrokes Coral, which was acquired in March.

The financial impact of the partnership will be estimated in EML’s earnings guidance for the year ending June 30, 2019 – due at the company’s AGM in November.
