Sportech has said it is currently trading in line with management expectations, having made a series of significant operational improvements’ and experienced a number of new customer wins during the period from January 1 through to May 16.

The company reported that its Sportech Racing and Digital division has had an ‘encouraging’ period to date, with investment in recent years helping to bring in new business.

The firm added that its Sportech Venues arm has had a ‘solid’ start to the year, with internet wagering on the MyWinners.com platform up 17% year-on-year.

Sportech also said its Football Pools business is currently performing in line with expectations, with a modernisation project for this division due to be completed within the next six weeks.

The company also used the trading update to announce that Peter Williams will not be standing for re-election as a non-executive director.

Williams, who has worked with Sportech for five years, will leave the board with immediate effect.
