Sky Betting and Gaming has cited the impact of investment in its technology and mobile platforms as key drivers behind a year-on-year rise in revenue during the 12 months through to June 30, 2015.

Overall group revenue totalled £247 million (€317.5 million/$345.3 million), up 36% on the amount posted on the previous 12-month period.

The group’s Sky Bet and Sky Gaming businesses served as the main sources of income after each, bringing in revenue of £117 million, while the Oddschecker division saw revenue increase 30% year-on-year to £13 million.

Sky Betting and Gaming noted that of the total revenue generated by its Sky Bet arm, 80% came from stakes placed on a mobile device.

The company also said that it was able to increase its total customer count to just under 1.5 million, with average revenue per customer increasing by 33%.

Richard Flint, chief executive of Sky Betting & Gaming, said: “During the year, we invested in both our technology and mobile platforms from our base in Yorkshire and this has helped drive our strong performance.

“As an independent company that has a strong relationship with Sky, we have continued to benefit from our Sky branding and links.

“We will maintain our focus on these two key areas in 2016 while also growing our team to ensure we are well placed to deliver another strong year of growth.”
