Experience at the heart of expansion at ambitious Pateplay
In only three years, Pateplay has transformed from an ambitious gaming provider into a recognised international brand present in more than 20 regulated markets worldwide.
In 2026 alone, our team has been working on launches in over 10 top-tier jurisdictions, placing the United States and Italy at the very top of our list alongside key growth markets like Peru, Lithuania, Czechia, Spain, Belgium, Colombia and Portugal.
Such a steep growth trajectory presents challenges for any gaming business. However, our core strength in driving forward with this aggressive global push is our dedicated team of over 200 highly skilled and experienced industry professionals – and their collective expertise and know-how are vital in delivering on our expansion plans.
Having veterans who bring decades of combined experience across technical development, market dynamics and regulatory compliance allows us to navigate complex global expansions efficiently and scale our operations without sacrificing quality.
A US milestone
Entering the US requires a deliberate, state-by-state strategy built around specific licensing requirements, tax frameworks and tailored game portfolios.
We have achieved a major milestone in the US by securing our full online licence in Pennsylvania, one of the largest and most dynamic online casino markets in the country. This approval opens direct access to a highly engaged player base and validates the technical reliability of our content.
Navigating the US regulatory landscape requires precision, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to compliance. Entering this state-by-state legal framework demonstrates the robustness of our platform and content – and special thanks must go to our head of legal, Ivaylo Dzhavkarov, whose leadership and dedication have guided us through this process in Pennsylvania.
“In mature markets, compliance cannot be handled from a distance or treated as a simple checklist”
This milestone for Pateplay opens doors to exciting new player bases, and we look forward to collaborating with leading North American operators to deliver high-performing gaming products that drive long-term retention.
Increasing the footprint
On top of our entry into Pennsylvania, we have a preliminary licence in New Jersey, a true pioneer in US gaming, with annual online revenues reaching nearly $3bn last year. Securing this status makes Pateplay one of the very few Eastern European studios to earn regulatory approval in the state.
To complete our initial footprint across the primary US iGaming states, we are actively awaiting licence approval in Michigan, which will solidify our position as a long-term player in North American iGaming.
Behind this success in the US is over two years of intensive, hands-on work. Our team spent these years directly on-site, maintaining constant communication and building strong, transparent relationships with local regulatory authorities.
In mature markets, compliance cannot be handled from a distance or treated as a simple checklist. The real know-how lies in proactive communication.
Being on the ground and staying one step ahead of changing regulatory expectations allows us to anticipate requirements rather than react to them, streamlining the approval process and establishing deep trust with gaming boards.
Technical readiness
Across the Atlantic, Italy represents Europe’s most mature and structured market. Recent regulatory updates brought stricter compliance rules and higher operating costs, raising the entry barrier for gaming providers.
However, our team is currently completing the final stages of the licensing process and expects to wrap it up in the coming weeks. Successfully breaking into both the US and Italy underscores our technical readiness, financial investment and willingness to operate at the highest global regulatory standards.
“Every jurisdiction comes with unique player preferences and cultural habits, which is why we avoid a rigid, one-size-fits-all development model”
Simultaneously, our entry into Greece marks a major strategic step in our Southeastern European roadmap. Given our Bulgarian headquarters in Sofia, expanding across neighbouring Balkan markets is a natural progression.
We are already live with Greece’s two largest operators, where strong player engagement has quickly turned the country into one of our fastest-growing revenue drivers. This regional success reinforces our plan to deepen our market share across Central and Eastern Europe throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Latin America plays a central role in our long-term plans, with Peru and Colombia serving as primary focal points. Peru stands out as one of the fastest-growing gaming markets in the region. In Colombia, the first LATAM nation to establish a fully regulated online framework, we are finalising preparations for an official market launch in the coming weeks.
Unique preferences
Every jurisdiction comes with unique player preferences and cultural habits, which is why we avoid a rigid, one-size-fits-all development model. Supported by a portfolio of more than 110 RNG certified slot games, HD live casino streaming, and physical gaming cabinets, we build products tailored to specific audience expectations.
Whether adapting classic fruit mechanics for European players, delivering promotional gamification tools, or scaling live dealer features, our localised strategy ensures high retention for our operator partners.
Securing approvals in key states like Pennsylvania and New Jersey reflects our long-term investment in compliance, product quality and innovation – principles that will continue to guide Pateplay through 2026 and beyond.
