Multi-sport fantasy contests provider Fanaments has been awarded a betting licence in the UK.

The Iceland-based company will now be able to offer its range of contests for football, basketball, golf and mixed martial arts to players in the UK.

Since launching in August of last year, Fanaments has paid out over €300,000 ($326,200) in winnings.

Licensed in Malta, the multi-sport platform enables users to choose a different team each game day.

Bragi Ægisson, chief executive and co-founder of Fanaments, said: “It is very exciting that we are the only multi-sport fantasy service on the continent.

“It was clear to us that there was an over reliance on football and so our objective is to satisfy the craving for additional sports.”
