MGA cancels Aureate Gaming Solutions’ licence

The Malta Gaming Authority has canceled the licence of Aureate Gaming Solutions, the former operator of 21bet.com.

According to the MGA, the licence was revoked as “Authorisation was obtained by one or more materially false or misleading representations or in some other improper way as per the proviso to regulation 10(2)(b) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations (S.L. 583.06).

Aureate operated 21bet.com, listed as the only website on its licence authorisation, until earlier in 2019 when the company was sold to Incentive Games Ltd, which operates a UK-licenced-and-facing site under the brand.

Aureate’s licence was for B2C type 2 gaming Services including fixed odds betting.

“Aureate Gaming Solutions Limited is thus no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations, register new players or accept new customer deposits, but is required to retain and provide all registered players with access to their player accounts, and to refund all funds standing to the credit of players in line with the applicable law,” the MGA said.

Aureate will be able to appeal the MGA’s decision.
