Camelot Global has appointed Wayne Pickup as its chief executive designate

Camelot Global has appointed Wayne Pickup as its chief executive designate.

Pickup will take over from Nigel Railton, who this week was named permanent chief executive of Camelot UK, which operates the UK National Lottery.

Currently serving as chief executive of Lotto New Zealand, Pickup is expected to begin his new role with Camelot in the first half of 2018, once he has completed all existing commitments.

Prior to joining Lotto New Zealand in 2012, Pickup enjoyed a four-year spell with IGT.

Bogdan Cenanovic, chairman of Camelot Global, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nigel for his fantastic contribution over the last four years.

“Under his leadership, we have made excellent progress in positioning Camelot Global as a leader in digital lottery technology and services, with the recent contract in Illinois being a key component for the company’s future success.

“At the same time, I’m very pleased to welcome Wayne to Camelot Global; Wayne has a great reputation in the industry – during his time at Lotto New Zealand, profits have grown by around 50% and digital sales have increased by over 300%.

“Prior to that, Wayne also worked in European, North American and Asia-Pacific lottery markets.

“Wayne’s experience will be invaluable to Camelot Global’s future ambitions.”
