Camelot reveals National Lottery Facebook streaming initiative
Camelot has announced plans to begin streaming UK National Lottery draws live on social media platform Facebook.
From January, consumers can view the draws via the Facebook Live function on a desktop or mobile device.
The live draw will form part of an extended offering, which also includes other content such as interviews with winners, behind-the-scenes features and special studio guests.
Tim Copper, digital director at Camelot, said: “We’re delighted to be able to announce our new Facebook digital strategy – being able to offer National Lottery players the chance to watch a live Saturday night draw show within their Facebook feed is a hugely exciting development.
“It means we’ll be able to give players access to the content they want to watch – when, where and how they want to watch it.
“We know players still love the live draw element of The National Lottery experience, but changing lifestyle habits and trends mean we have to change the way we offer them that experience.”
Meanwhile, Camelot has said that it has fixed the ongoing issue with its official mobile application for the UK National Lottery.
Earlier this month, Camelot was forced to suspend the app after users reported a series of issues, including an incorrect non-winning message when checking results with a QR code scanner or the manual entry checker on the app.
Camelot, which blamed the problems on a recent update for the app, said that is now fully functional on iOS devices, adding that it is close to launching a version for Android users.
