International Game Technology (IGT) has secured an expanded technology and services deal with Slovakian government-owned lottery TIPOS.

The agreement will run for an initial 10 years, and can be extended by up to five years, in one-year increments. It will see IGT deliver a range of new lottery solutions and ongoing lottery-related services.

IGT, which has been working with TIPOS for more than 25 years, will provide the lottery with a new lottery central system, retailer terminals, associated software and peripherals.

The agreement also covers the supply of non-lottery software and services such as prepaid mobile phone top-ups and event ticketing for both sports and cultural events.

Due for deployment early next year, the solution includes IGT's Aurora central system, Open Retail software terminal system, and 3,400 Retailer Pro terminals and Printer Pro printers.

IGT will also continue to provide ongoing services such as central system and terminal installation and maintenance, as well as warehousing, retailer training and hotline/data centre management and operation, a communications system, field services, and consumables distribution.

In addition, IGT will provide a full range of marketing consultancy services to TIPOS. This will include game portfolio development, marketing programs to drive sales growth, data analytics and market research support, and retailer network development programs.

“This agreement represents an exciting new era in the long-term relationship between IGT and TIPOS,” senior vice-president and chief operating officer for IGT's international division Declan Harkin said.

“In addition to providing exceptional performance and reliability, Aurora’s business features and functions will enable long-term innovation and growth for TIPOS and their expanding customer base, ultimately increasing revenues to good causes.”

TIPOS CEO, Jan Barczi, added: “IGT’s expertise and technology innovations will provide TIPOS with the flexibility and power it needs to effectively manage and grow the lottery.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with IGT to enhance funding for important causes in Slovakia over the coming decade.”

IGT, which has provided lottery and instant ticket equipment and services to TIPOS since 1993, also recently extended its supply deal with the DC Lottery in Washington DC, US.

Struck via its IGT Global Solutions Corporation, the renewed deal covers game planning and marketing, research and analytics, graphics support and both the production and printing of instant tickets.
