German lottery operator Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz has extended its partnership with FSV Mainz 05, which competes in the country’s Bundesliga top-tier club football competition.

The three-year deal will run through to 2020.

Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz, which began its support of the club in 1990, will hold the naming rights to the standing terrace section of the team’s Opel Arena home stadium.

The operator will also benefit from access to hospitality services and a presence on advertising boards inside the ground.

“With the extension of our partnership we are setting an example – that state-organised gambling is the most dependable partner in sports, and this will remain to be the case,” Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz general manager Jürgen Häfner said.

Harald Strutz, president of Mainz 05, added: “We are immensely happy to have a strong partner such as Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz remain faithful and go into a third decade with us.”
