Norsk Tipping names Havnelid as new CEO

Norwegian state-owned gaming operator Norsk Tipping has appointed Åsne Havnelid as its new chief executive.

Norwegian state-owned gaming operator Norsk Tipping has appointed Åsne Havnelid as its new chief executive.

Havnelid will join the company after a five-year spell as secretary general of the Norwegian Red Cross, which receives funding from the surplus of Norsk Tipping.

Norsk Tipping said that Havnelid will officially begin her new role with the firm this autumn.

“I am very glad and excited, but also humble to have been given this opportunity; Norsk Tipping is a vital contributor to Norwegian society,” Havnelid said.

“I look forward to leading Norsk Tipping’s task of developing and offering attractive games within a framework of responsible gaming.”

Linda Bernander Silseth, chairman of the board of Norsk Tipping, added: “I am very proud and pleased to present Åsne Havnelid as the new CEO of Norsk Tipping; she has a broad background and extensive experience from central positions within business, sports and the humanitarian sector.

“I am confident that she will uphold the strong position of Norsk Tipping both as a gaming company and important part of Norwegian society.”
