Quanta has appointed former Intralot executive Konstantinos Farris as its chief technology officer.

Konstantinos will lead IT project management, product testing and integration at Quanta, which is believed to be the first licensed blockchain lottery operator in the world.

In addition, Konstantinos will work closely with Quanta’s experienced technical development teams and develop technical aspects of the company’s IT strategy.

Konstantinos spent 20 years with Intralot, including a lengthy spell as its chief technology officer from 2007 to 2016.

“It is clear blockchain technologies have a significant place in the online gambling and lottery industries, and I am excited by the challenge of making Quanta a global leader in the space,” Konstantinos said.

Lee Hills, chief operating officer at Quanta, added: “I am delighted to welcome Konstantinos to the team; he is a heavyweight when it comes to gambling and technology, and is a huge asset for us as we continue to leverage the power and capabilities of our blockchain platform.

“It is going to be an exciting era in the gambling industry from a business and technical perspective, and we look forward to the vision and input Konstantinos will bring to the future global development of our business and IT strategies.”
