Betfair has opted to extend a deal with Jockey Club Racecourses, the group that oversees the running of 15 of the leading racecourses in the UK, to continue its title sponsorship of two major jump racing events.

The new agreement will run from 2017 until 2019.

Betfair will remain as title sponsor of both the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park and the Betfair Tingle Creek at Sandown Park.

The online gaming operator was a founding Authorised Betting Partner (ABP) of British Racing and was also the first to seal a commercial partnership with Jockey Club Racecourses, following the announcement that the Jockey Club would only sign agreements with ABPs.

However, following the recent reform of the levy, the ABP scheme has now concluded.

Paul Fisher, chief executive of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “As a major supporter of British Racing we’re delighted Betfair is continuing to partner with us on two of the biggest days of Jump racing in the calendar.

“ABP may have finished following the reform of the levy, but we remain extremely grateful to Betfair, not only for the role they played as a founding partner, but also for the ongoing support they offer to racing.”
