BetVictor has agreed a new one-year deal to extend its title sponsorship of the Welsh Open snooker tournament.

The deal covers the 2016 event, which will take place in Cardiff from February 15-21 and feature a prize fund of £324,000 (€442.300/$475,600).

BetVictor has been the title sponsor of the World Snooker ranking event since 2013.

“BetVictor sponsored the Welsh Open for the first time in 2013 and we are delighted that they have kept their support going for four consecutive years,” World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said.

“Snooker’s global television footprint has grown dramatically in recent years so this event will provide BetVictor with exposure to many millions of fans worldwide.”

Charlie McCann, head of communications at BetVictor, added: “Snooker’s TV exposure is a terrific vehicle for BetVictor as a global brand and it is a week that we all look forward to.”
