Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator DraftKings has agreed a deal with EuroLeague Basketball to become a partner of its EuroLeague continental club competition.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that, from the upcoming 2017-18 season, DraftKings will serve as the official fantasy partner of EuroLeague.

DraftKings will work with EuroLeague Basketball to overhaul the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge and introduce new fantasy games and opportunities in both the EuroLeague and EuroCup.

EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge has featured more than one million teams since its launch in 2004.

In a statement, EuroLeague Basketball said: “DraftKings is an innovative sports-tech entertainment platform changing the way consumers engage with their favourite sports, teams and athletes by bringing fans closer to the game.

“The commitment to excellence by EuroLeague Basketball as exemplified on the court with format changes last year to form the first true league in European team sports is now being taken to other aspects of the fan experience, and fantasy is more evidence of that.”
