France’s Ligue 1 signs fantasy football partner
The French Ligue 1 top-tier club football competition has agreed a partnership with fantasy sports company Mon Petit Gazon (MPG).
Under the deal, fans can use MPG to create a fantasy team of players for the 2017-18 season and compete against other supporters.
Fans that sign up will be able to win a range of prizes such as shirts, footballs and tickets to Ligue 1 matches.
Martin Jaglin, co-founder of MPG, said: “After years of trial and error, fantasy has finally taken off in France: nearly half a million football fans of all ages defy their friends or colleagues throughout the year, crossing their fingers for their players to play well every weekend.
“This agreement will make it possible to create more bridges between our game and the field.”
