David Williams has confirmed that he has stepped down from his role as media relations director at Ladbrokes.

In a statement on his personal LinkedIn page, Williams said he will continue to assist the bookmaker until the end of June before leaving the company he has been with for 13 years.

In addition to media relations director, Williams held various other roles within Ladbrokes’ communications media and PR teams.

“I’ve enjoyed a hugely rewarding time with the firm, having arrived on the graduate scheme in 2004,” Williams said in the statement.

“During those years I’ve valued the support of some outstanding colleagues and made some first-class friends who encouraged and allowed me to work in a wonderful industry.

“Heading up the PR charge with Ladbrokes was a real privilege but it now feels like a perfect time to explore new opportunities.”

Williams, who will now take time away from the industry to consider his next move, added: “Working to ensure the Ladbrokes brand was celebrated and recognised throughout consumer media and corporate comms has been wonderful, and I’m proud of the role I played in helping to lead the business through some challenging and exciting times over the years.”
