Affiliate marketing services provider XLMedia has appointed its new chief executive, Stuart Simms, to its board of directors after he started in the role on Wednesday (2 October).

Simms was named as CEO in July, replacing XLMedia’s co-founder and long-serving chief executive Ory Weihs, who remains on the XLMedia board as a non-executive director.

Simms had previously worked for Japanese affiliate marketing service provider Rakuten Marketing, where he served as global CEO since July 2018. He had also spent time with consumer data and analytics company Fits Me before Rakuten acquired the company in 2015.

“We are delighted that Stuart will be joining the Board. We look forward to leveraging his experience and expertise to drive the business forward,” Chris Bell, Non-Executive Chairman of XLMedia, said.

In September XLMedia reported a 10% decline in revenue, which it said was due to regulatory headwinds.

The provider is currently seeking a new chief financial officer, after Yehuda Dahan stepped down from the post on 23 September.
