| By Robert Fletcher
Sports wagering revenue in Mississippi more than doubled year-on-year during November, despite a slight decline in the US state’s handle.

Revenue for the month amounted to $8.1m (£6.0m/€6.6m), which was 113.2% more than $3.8m in the same month in 2019, but 8.0% lower than $8.8m in October this year.

Player spending on sports betting slipped 3.0% year-on-year to $54.4m, while this figure was also 11.1% down from $61.2m in October.

Coastal casinos were again the main source of sports betting income during the month, with revenue at these locations amounting to $4.4m, more than half of total revenue for November.

Consumers in Mississippi spent $35.9m on sports betting at coastal casinos, including $26.2m on football, $1.3m on basketball and $23,047 on baseball. A further $4.7m was wagered on other sports and $3.6m on parlay betting.
