Swedish operator Betsson has appointed Martin Öhman as its new chief financial officer as part of an ongoing reshuffle within its management team.

Öhman, who is currently CFO of Swedish automotive dealer Upplands Motor, will take on his new role no later than September 1, 2019.

Prior to his time with Upplands, Öhman was the finance director at mobility aid supplier Handicare Group. He also had a spell as CFO at Swedish medical technology group Bactiguard.

“Martin’s broad financial and management experience and his M&A experiences are valuable assets for Betsson,” Betsson president and CEO Pontus Lindwall said.

Öhman’s appointment comes after Betsson last month also hired a number of new product directors for gaming and sports.

Cíara Nic Liam joined from William Hill, where she was head of gaming, to serve as Betsson’s gaming product director. Former Svenska Spel executive Joakim Thor also came on board as sports product director and will oversee the operator’s sportsbook.

Earlier this year, Betsson also named Peter Frey as chief product and technology officer, while Peter Zäll joined as chief strategy officer. Zäll is also currently serving as acting chief product officer.

Betsson is overhauling its management in an effort to ensure that the operator can continue its growth once its Back on Track turnaround strategy concludes at the end of the first quarter.
