Gambling.com Group has appointed Fredrik Burvall, formerly chief executive of Cherry AB, to its board.

Burvall left Cherry in January after more than 11 years with the company and is now active on the boards of Stockholm-listed AspireGlobal plc and myTaste AB.

In addition, Burvall serves on the board at privately held Enteractive Malta Ltd.

“I’m thrilled to have begun a new chapter of my career with Gambling.com, one of the industry’s leading providers of performance based marketing,” Burvall said.

“The group holds the industry industry’s no.1 domain name, Gambling.com, and a state of the art publishing platform for affiliate sites, along with a proprietary business intelligence platform which gives the Group great opportunities for growth going forward.”

Charles Gillespie, chief executive of Gambling.com, added: “Fredrik’s broad experience in the online gaming sector will certainly help the group achieve its aggressive growth plans in the coming years.”

The move comes after Gambling.com last week issued a second convertible bond for €8.9m ($10.6m) as it seeks further expansion within the Nordics market.

Gambling.com, which was previously known as KAX Media, has now generated a total of €16m and completed its fundraising plan for the year.
