Freeman takes on his new CCO role with effect from 16 November. His responsibilities will include the delivery and growth of Inspired virtual sports products.

He replaces Steve Rogers, who is stepping down as CCO after more than 25 years to pursue other opportunities.

An experienced igaming executive, Freeman joins Inspired from sports and igaming platform provider FSBTech. Here, he served as chief revenue officer for almost three years.

Prior to this, Freeman was vice-president of global business development and commercial at the PlayDigital division of IGT. This included playing a key role in the launch of the PlaySports brand across North America.

The executive also spent five years as CCO of Kambi Group, working at the business before and after the company’s spin off from Unibet, now Kindred.

Freeman also spent time as group commercial officer at EveryMatrix and five years as CCO at Kambi Group. While working for the latter, Freeman served as a member of the executive management team that navigated a successful IPO.

In addition, he had spells at MoxieSoftware, RSM Europe and Xchange Communications.

Inspired welcomes Freeman’s invaluable experience

“Ian’s extensive background in the sports betting industry is invaluable to our team,” Inspired CEO and president Brooks Pierce said.

“With a proven track record in commercial, operational and technical areas, Ian brings the perfect balance of capabilities needed to elevate our virtual sports business to the next level.

“Virtual Sports is a key driver of the growth strategy of Inspired and we are excited to add Ian to this key leadership role.”

Pierce also paid tribute to the outgoing Rogers. He said: “I would like to thank Steve for his many contributions to the company over the years. He has been a big part of our success. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
